Markéta Štefanová

My name is Marketa and I come from Uherske Hradiste. In fact, I used to be more into art than sporting activities. I studied and finished the Janacek Academy of Performing Arts, in the field of cultural management. In the theatre world I got a lot of precious lifetime experience and into a lot of stressful situations as well. The only way to keep myself going was to exercise. I used to do a bit of fitness at home or at the gym, but in 2021 I began jogging and switched from public transportation to my old rusty kickbike. And soon fell for both completely.

Yedoo City was my first kickbike, which I got in 2010. Back then it was the cheapest one that I could afford as a high school student. I started with riding around the city, but soon I started with longer trips where others were leisurely riding their bikes while I was kicking like crazy behind them. Nevertheless, I would never change it for anything else. The kickbike meant freedom to me and an ideal form of fitness in the fresh air. I bought a Kostka Fun Hill and started to go on small trips around Czechia. Soon enough, I joined the Brno team Brnenske Kolobkove Gang. After several races, there was no going back. I fell for climbing hills and suffering on longer tracks.

For road races, I’m loyal to Kickbike Race Max 28. My first one was named Odette. Together we won the Czech long distance series in 2022, including its highlight - Crossing the Czech Republic (350 km). The biggest challenge for us was Kickdistance 2024 from Milan to Munich (600 km in 48 hours). With my crossroads kickbike Doxtor, named Torka Dox, we won two editions of “Etapak, cil neznamy”, in 2024 and 2025.

In my collection of mountaintops are Praded (2021, Kostka Fun Hill), Jested (2023, Kickbike Race Max), Sveti Jure Croatia (2023, Kickbike Race Max), Blatensky vrch (2023, Doxtor) and Pico del Veleta España (2024, Kickbike Race Max).

I joined the Kick France Femmes project when the team was almost complete. For such a demanding project, the support team and the riders make for the best crew that I could ever wish for. We have managed many challenges together already which assured me of one thing - we are a real team!

For me, Kick France Femmes is a real challenge and a great opportunity to add Mont Ventoux to my collection. It will happen on Kickbike Race Max, named La Vuelta (one of the successors from the spanish grand tour in 2025). You know, there is no better way to discover new places in the world than from behind the kickbike handlebars!
