Veronika Spáčilová

My name is Veronika and I have always liked movement, already as a little girl i kept running around the house and this passion stayed with me until now.

Being 8 years old, I badly wanted to start some sport. I chose tennis, but my parents signed me up for badminton and my initial enthusiasm got quenched. But still I kept looking for ways to start something new, and I wanted to train and work hard and go on some cares or competitions, and I envied some of my schoolmates. Luckily, there were occasional tournaments of school teams, so it was better than nothing. But I still kept searching for more.

From basic school to college, I did volleyball and swimming. I was roller skating as well, I spent hours in a skatepark and later went on trips as long as 50 kilometers. I started with breakdancing, where I finally got to some competitions. In a regional breakdancing competition I won my first medal, for first place. For some time I was also devoted to the fire-fighting sport. But it was like a rollercoaster ride - there were long periods of time where I completely abandoned sports for various reasons. For a time, a bike was a key vehicle for travelling to my friends, but I never liked it.

And now? Footbike? footbike, whatbike? FOOTBIKE! And now I go jogging as often as never before and I do orienteering and that is really fun. I count as a footbiker from 2018, when a friend of mine lent me her Morxes mushing special. I stepped on it, kicked and was caught. Bike? No way, footbike is the new thing! In a few weeks I had my very own Kostka Tour Max, a limited edition with a serial number that corresponds with my date of birth. Well, it was meant for me! So I rode it a bit, then more and then even more. My first 100 km trip. then another. And then a new footbike, a racing special Yedoo Wolfer 28/28. My first race in 2023. Ecstasy. I can't describe how much I like it. I tried the Rollo league, competed in the World championship, I participated in long distance SDK races including the Crossing of the Czech Republic, and my biggest achievement so far is Kickdistance 2025, Bordeaux-Paris. And I got some medals too. Basically, I fulfilled the dream of my childhood - to be in a team, train, compete. BKG is the best team and for me it is an honor to be a member.

And to complete the Tour de France Femmes? Challenge accepted! Yes, there will be some hard work. I am looking forward to everything, from the training to the journey itself. I am happy to be a part of this and that together we can extend the limits of not only what we can do, but the whole footbiking!
